Sr. Infotainment Platform Software Engineer

Job Description Design and implement technical solutions for an in‑vehicle software platform team. Responsibilities include specifying requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing of Android/Linux and QNX components for GM infotainment systems. Manage the full lifecycle of the Android/QNX domain: requirements analysis, design documentation, code development and review, integration, and maintenance. Implement and stabilize Android kernel and framework, integrate and troubleshoot QNX components and QVM configuration, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams for multi‑OS system stability. Work with DevQA engineers on test plan development, design and implement power management across QNX and Android, and support startup/shutdown sequences and suspend/resume operations. Follow an agile development process and ensure all solutions meet architectural standards such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, testability, usability, and security. Lead design content, software anomaly corrections, complex design and issue analysis, and specification of system requirements while providing clear technical documentation and supporting best practices for the software community. Lead design content, software anomaly corrections, and complex design and issue analysis. Specify and balance system requirements and support best practices within the software community. Required Qualifications 5‑7+ years in Software Development on Linux and/or Android. Advanced programming and debugging skills with C, C++/11/14, Java, and unit test framework. Development tools and IDE such as VS Code, Android Studio, Momentics, Git, JIRA, CMake, Gradle, gcov, SonarQube, etc. Solid understanding of Android and QNX system architecture, frameworks, build system and key components, and comfort with system extensions and modifications. Solid understanding of Linux OS concepts, kernel implementation, device drivers, debugging, and profiling tools. Strong analytical, debugging capability, and problem‑solving skills for complex integration challenges using C, C++, and Java. Familiarity with different debugging methodologies. Ability to create, modify, and maintain makefiles and build scripts in complex build systems. Strong understanding of software versioning and release management principles, including codebase organization, branching strategies, and integration processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create clear technical documentation for software development guidelines and integration processes. Goal‑driven self‑starter capable of working independently under release pressure. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CI/CD tools and processes. Experience with Yocto Linux. Experience with Gunyah VM and/or other virtual machine and container technologies. Experience in the automotive industry. Compensation Expected base compensation: $148,000 - $226,200. An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
