PPEC of Palm Beach is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center which was founded to serve medically fragile children in Palm Beach County. If this is you, let us know!The EMT will transfer PPEC patients to and from the facility. The Paramedic is responsible for safely loading patients while also monitoring and responding to their healthcare and any health situations during transport.As an EMT, you will be responsible for the following:Serving as an aide for scheduled transportation routes of patients assuring all necessary equipment and supplies are transported with the childrenEnsuring all forms are properly filled out and signed for receipt and hand off for all patientsEvaluating patient's conditions and following medical procedures that may be required during transportation routes for treatment such as suctioning, vitals, trach replacement and G tube careProviding physical support for patients including lifting in and out of company vehicles and ensuring patient's security and safetyStaying alert and observant towards the safety and wellbeing of children throughout the dayCommunicating with the Director of Nursing on any patient data, health, or emergency situations that occur during transportMaintaining solid communication with the transportation manager to ensure children are transported to the correct location andProviding feedback to drivers to ensure cleanliness and good working order of vehiclesAttending internal meetings and providing reports as neededWorking closely with the team to provide the highest level of care and safe transportation to patientsRequirementsMust Haves:1 or more years of experience as an EMTMinimum of 1 year of experience working with childrenFlorida Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licenseCPR certification (American Red Cross)Advanced Cardiac Life Support, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateNonviolent Crisis Intervention, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start datePALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateAlertness and careful observation of their patient's health and safetyStellar attendance and punctualityReliability and flexibilityA maintained and clean appearanceAbility to accept accountability for job performanceAbility to promote compassion and understanding for patient's needsAbility to demonstrate and provide examples of continuous personal development and improvement in each of the essential functions listed in the sections belowAbility to work within a cohesive, successful teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to safely lift and move from floor to chair while providing services for children of all ages within all environmentsAbility to follow all safety for the child and monitor the equipment for safetyAbility to lift children 50 lbs or less onto van and into car seatsAbility to operate an iPadNice To Have:Experience in PPEC EnvironmentWhy You'll Like Working HereAn opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in the communityWorking alongside passionate professionals that are experts in their fieldWorking as part of a growing but close-knit teamCompetitive benefits, paid holidays, time off and 401K
