Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Days & Nights Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Post-Op, Oncology, and Telemetry unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Care for general medical-surgical and post-operative patients (including lap chole and lap appy), as well as oncology patients presenting with complications such as neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections
• Manage and monitor patients with chest tubes, including those discharged with PleurX chest tubes
• Read and interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitors in coordination with a central monitor technician
• Titrate Heparin drips as indicated; no cardiac drips utilized on this unit
• Participate in weekend rotation (every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday) and holiday rotation alongside permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Experience with medical-surgical and/or telemetry patient populations
• Compliance with dress code: royal blue scrubs; no false nails permitted
• Must meet 50-mile radius requirement; valid unexpired driver's license required with submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification
• Experience with PleurX chest tubes and chest tube management
• Prior oncology nursing experience, including care of neutropenic patients
• Familiarity with CPAP and BiPAP equipment (managed by Respiratory Therapy)
