Title
Registered Nurse 1 - Correctional Nursing

Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license and registration (required)
- BLS certification
- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals.
- Coordinate and clinically supervise Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff.
- Perform health assessments and develop/implement nursing care plans.
- Provide case finding, health teaching, counseling, treatments, and nursing procedures.
- Consult with treatment teams and participate in interdisciplinary health teams.

Compliance / Notes
- Criminal History Form clearance required before start (may take up to 4 weeks).
- Valid state license required - no exceptions.
- Submittal requirements include SSN and DOB; RTO must be presented at the time of submittal.
- Accepts first-time travelers and local travelers at the same rate.
- Returning staff must have been away from any state facility for at least 2 years.
