Laboratory Analyst - Temporary 18-24 Months

Padre Dam Municipal Water District is looking for a Laboratory Analyst to fill a full-time, temporary position assigned to work at our Advanced Water Purification Facility Lab. The expected duration of this temporary assignment is between 18 – 24 months from the start date. Salary Grades Salary Grade 20: $35.33 - $49.97 Salary Grade 22: $36.81 - $52.06 A 3.25% Cost of Living Increase will be Effective June 20, 2026 Job Responsibilities Incumbents are responsible for the physical and chemical analysis of regulatory and process control testing for the water recycling facility; district potable water system, advanced water treatment, and water quality for Santee Lakes. Duties include: analyzing wastewater plant samples; providing operators with the necessary data; monitoring the recreational lakes; preparing laboratory solutions, chemicals, media and equipment; performing bacteriological tests for the water recycling and potable water distribution systems; and maintaining laboratory logs, records and files. Enters information into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Maintains and practices procedures to ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ELAP requirements and the laboratory QA/QC manual. Training / Experience Required Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position may be considered.
