Purchasing Specialist

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be part of the procurement department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Purchasing Specialist

Location: Kansas City, MO

Pay Range: $22.00

Shift:  Monday - Friday 8am -5pm 

What's the Job?

• Develop and execute purchasing plans for materials, equipment, and services within assigned categories.
• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price competitiveness, delivery reliability, and service performance.
• Conduct price inquiries, request quotations, and negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency.
• Review purchase requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and ensure timely submission and approval in ERP or procurement systems.
• Track order status, follow up on delivery schedules, and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods.

What's Needed?

• Experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze market trends and provide cost-saving recommendations.
• Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems.
• Knowledge of import tariffs, trade policies, and customs procedures.
