Advanced PTA | Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), providing compassionate and effective patient care under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role involves conducting patient assessments, delivering therapeutic interventions, and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate patient assessments and implement interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist and physicians.
• Coordinate regularly with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust care plans based on patient progress or changes in condition.
• Adhere to established plans of care and document all patient interactions and treatments within required timeframes.
• Engage in interdisciplinary care planning and promptly communicate any patient condition changes to relevant healthcare team members.
• Provide patient and caregiver education tailored to individual care plans, evaluating the effectiveness of educational efforts.
• Manage time efficiently to meet daily productivity goals while ensuring cost-effective use of medical supplies.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.

Experience

• At least one year of experience in a Joint Commission accredited hospital setting.
• Minimum one year experience in an acute rehabilitation facility or equivalent, focusing on adult patient care.
• Home care experience of six months is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license valid in the state of Missouri.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance declaration.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and navigate stairs.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with good visual acuity.
• Capability to lift and transfer patients weighing between 10 and 200+ pounds safely.
• Competence in operating a vehicle safely.

Working Conditions
