Merchandising Manager

A Store Manager in a Five Below retail environment ensures that store operations run smoothly, from receiving new merchandise to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a high-performing team. Responsibilities Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor. Manage the setup and maintenance of displays for specific store sections, ensuring signage is accurate and promotions are properly highlighted, following corporate guidelines for resets and seasonal updates. Open and close the store, which includes securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring everything is in place for a smooth daily operation. Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing any urgent issues. Help oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively and providing excellent customer service. Support the onboarding and ongoing training of associates, helping them learn store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures to improve their performance. Drive store sales and control expenses by actively seeking ways to boost sales through merchandising, staff performance, and customer service. Execute the market plan by arranging products and signage according to corporate guidelines, ensuring promotional materials are displayed properly and updated regularly. Ensure the execution of company Inventory Integrity process. Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. College experience preferred. Minimum 2 years of management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task. Creative thinking. Ability to maintain composure under pressure. Essential Job Functions Frequently operate cash register. Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5–10 feet. Frequently ascend and descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stock. Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor. Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers face‑to‑face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers, exchanging accurate information as required. Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers and returning merchandise to the stock room. Be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which may require day, evening, weekend, overnight shifts, and travel as needed. Be able to identify and discern emails and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures. Be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time. Be at least 18 years old and able to perform all essential job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Position Type: Hourly Position.
