Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: 1 to 2 Years Experience Required License: Current Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - First-timers accepted - Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period - Will float between various departments as needed Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care. The nurse will care for patients in a Progressive Care Unit. Patient ratios are 1:5. Holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments may be required. The clinician will have the flexibility to float within the scope to meet facility needs. Skills required include proficiency in Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown care. Experience in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is necessary. The nurse will provide care for conditions including sepsis, renal failure, and stroke. Preferred skills include experience with sheath removal and feeding tube management. Additional responsibilities may include the administration of blood products and IV therapy. The candidate must be comfortable with telemetric monitoring and emergency response. Training in specific medical equipment and systems may be required. Compliance with all unit protocols and responsiveness to team dynamics is essential. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care in a multidisciplinary environment. All candidates should be prepared to complete necessary documentation and training prior to the start of the assignment.
