Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups utilizing standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans designed to meet specific short-term objectives alongside long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
  • Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions that target communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to create a harmonious care approach.
  • Provide education for both patients and families to support progress outside the walls of clinical sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Maintain punctual and accurate documentation consistent with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and collaborative learning with peers to stay informed about the latest developments in your field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment practices across all age groups, along with a strong grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical judgment paired with problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
