RN House Supervisor - Behavioral Health

The Sanctuary is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor to provide clinical and operational leadership across our Adult and Geriatric inpatient psychiatric units.

The House Supervisor serves as the on-site nursing leader during the assigned shift , supporting safe staffing, patient flow, clinical decision-making, emergency response, and staff accountability. Hiring Immediately

Shifts Available:

1. Primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday day shifts, with additional coverage as operationally needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-wide nursing oversight during assigned shifts.
• Monitor staffing, census, patient acuity, admissions, discharges, and 1:1 observations.
• Conduct rounds and identify clinical, staffing, safety, and operational concerns.
• Provide direction and support to nursing staff and charge nurses.
• Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies, including Code Blue and Code Gray events.
• Support safe and timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor nursing documentation, medication practices, patient safety, and policy compliance.
• Provide real-time coaching and accountability to nursing staff.
• Escalate significant clinical or operational concerns to the DON and Administrator/CEO.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license eligible to practice in Alabama .
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience .
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain as required.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, prioritization, and emergency-response skills.
• Psychiatric/behavioral-health nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Previous charge nurse, house supervisor, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Candidates must have the flexibility to provide additional coverage based on patient-care and hospital operational needs.
