BACKGROUND:
Acres of Diamonds mission is to create lasting change for moms and kids experiencing homelessness through a caring community. As one of the few facilities in Eastern King County specifically serving women and children experiencing homelessness, our organization strives to meet the current need and increase our capacity through innovation. Our services and programs are focused onhealing throughrelationships. We value and depend on the whole community-residents, staff, volunteers, donors, and surrounding communities-to fulfill our mission.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Acres of Diamonds is seeking an experienced strategic Director of Administration who will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team. This full-time role provides high-level support to the Chief Operating Officer and close collaboration with the CFO. The Director will deliver strategic oversight and operational leadership ofFacilities, HumanResources (including payroll and benefits), information technology, and capital grant administration, while partnering closely with the CFO on financial administration, budgetingreporting, and cross-functional stewardship.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, organizational, and innovative skills to build scalable systems and processes that support our fast-growing organization. This is an exciting season of expansion, including a new campus addition, new early learning center, and growth from serving 18 to 35 families. By collaborating with other Directors, this role will drive operational excellence and enhance our ability to serve staff and the community supporting moms and kids experiencing homelessness.
GENERALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Director of Administration provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for critical support functions.This role focuses on building scalable systems, developing strong teams and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance,andefficiency while appropriately delegating day-to-day execution.
- Collaborate with the COO, CFO, other Directors, and vendors on strategic and operational decisions.
- Monitor key metrics, deliver actionable insights, and support data-informed decision making and responsible stewardship across the organization.
Human Resources (35-40%):
- Provide strategic, end-to-end leadership of HR (recruiting through offboarding), including payroll (BambooHR), benefits, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and culture aligned with Acres of Diamonds values and applicable laws.
- Also, ensure consistent, companywide compliance training; support professional growth; andmaintainequitableprocesses for performance reviews, improvement plans, and terminations as needed.
Facilities(35-40%):
As we prepare to scale into a new, significantly larger campus, this role will help lead an exciting season ofgrowthstaying nimble through unforeseen circumstancesduring a major expansion (new campus addition and EarlyLearning Center).You will ensure the facilities team is well staffed and supported, coordinate with key building volunteers, and oversee:
- The Facilities department in ongoing building maintenance forecasting of potential risks to Acres properties, and the planning and execution of sustained capital needs
- Providing managerial support to Facility Manager as they prioritize and execute projects and implement new policies and procedures companywide.
Information Technology(15-20):Lead the information technology department by managing the relationship with ouroutsourcedIT provider and our internal IT coordinatorandkey volunteersto:
- Ensure the best use of technologyin all operations, support building of new 24 family home andEarly Learning Center technology needs
- Prioritize and executeprojectstoimplement new company- widesystems,policiesand proceduresforscale.
CapitalGrants & Related Administration(5%): Overseeour dedicated Capitalgrant administrator
Overall:
- Align admin systems (HR/IT/Facilities) with CFO-managed finance systems; ensure clean data flow.
- Support senior leadership with administrative reporting and dashboards.
- Partner with the fractional CFO on budget tracking, reporting support, and invoice-processing oversight.
- Oversee general administration.
- Coach and evaluate HR/IT/Facilities leaders; provide training, growth plans, and corrective action as needed.
- Lead special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Aligned with Acres ofDiamondsmission and values.
- Active Christian faith and church involvement.
- Proven leader who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in business, HR, or related field.
- 7+ years in leadership/management, including HR, strategy, and project management.
- Strong HRexpertise(payroll, recruiting,orgdevelopment, comp/benefits, planning).
- Working knowledge across HR, IT, Facilities, andpeopleoperations.
- Ability to design and manage efficient operational processes.
- Skilled at buildingstructurethatsupportsrapid change and growth.
- Budgeting and business planning experience.
- Finance/accounting background (3+ years preferred); comfortable with GL, reporting, budgets, and partnering with a (fractional) CFO.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communicationanddata -analysisskills.
- Pass a background check.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Able tomaintainstrict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, or working with a fractional CFO / outsourced finance function.
- MastersDegreein related field or equivalent.
- Experience in a faith-based or trauma-informed care environment.
- Experienceinworking with non-profits.
- Project Management Experience
- Knowledge of nonprofit compliance, grant reporting, and donor stewardship.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS and CRM systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and balance the presentation of critical organizational data whilemaintaininghealthy relational interactions, and mission priorities.
