The Production Planner - Manufacturing is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing manufacturing resources. This role serves as a key link between supply chain planning, procurement, and manufacturing operations to meet customer demand and business objectives. Additionally, the planner will manage master data to ensure system efficiency and accuracy in Oracle-based planning processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Production Scheduling: Create and manage detailed production schedules for manufacturing sites, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and inventory targets. Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity and constraints; recommend adjustments to optimize throughput and minimize bottlenecks. Material Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability for scheduled production. Demand Alignment: Translate demand plans into executable manufacturing schedules, considering lead times, frozen periods, and resource availability. Master Data Management: Maintain and update planning-related master data (e.g., item attributes, lead times, BOMs, routings) in Oracle to ensure accurate and efficient system performance. Planning Parameter Optimization: Review and apply recommended planning parameters in Oracle (e.g., safety stock, min/max levels, lot sizes) to improve schedule accuracy and reduce exceptions. Performance Monitoring: Track adherence to production plans, identify variances, and implement corrective actions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain, quality, and operations teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and improve efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements in planning accuracy, cycle time reduction, and resource utilization. Desired Minimum Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field. 3+ years of experience in production planning or manufacturing scheduling. Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and planning tools. Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments preferred. APICS certification a plus. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong communication skills, both oral, written and electronic form. Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be punctual, reliable, and efficient. Must be very detail oriented and organized, able to multi-task. Knowledge and experience working with MRO/ERP systems, Oracle R12 is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office and analytical skills, especially excel; must be able to create and maintain spreadsheets with knowledge in data analysis. Must demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of quality systems requirements (QSR) and good manufacturing practices (GMP). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage execution risk and prioritize effectively, by managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Excellent organization and prioritization skills. Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to display sound judgement. Tools and Equipment Used Ability to utilize a computer, telephone, fax and copy machine as well as other general office equipment. Physical Requirements While undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the employee must repeatedly sit, listen, speak, and write/type. The employee is required to go to all areas of the company. Must be able to independently travel via car or airplane to domestic and international locations as needed. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Must be able to communicate by phone. Must be able to use computer (use keyboard and mouse, view monitor) for most of workday. Travel Requirements Less than 5% Salary Pay Range $62,000.00 - $85,000.00 USD Salary Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for bonus, commission, equity or other variable compensation.
