Data Processing Specialist

Sioux Valley Family Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Processing Specialist to support the accurate, timely, and secure management of organizational and healthcare-related data. This position will be responsible for entering, reviewing, maintaining, and processing information across internal systems while helping ensure data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and the ability to work independently while handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, verify, and maintain data in electronic databases and internal systems.
  • Review records for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and potential discrepancies.
  • Process and organize information according to established procedures and deadlines.
  • Identify data errors or missing information and coordinate corrections with appropriate staff.
  • Perform routine data audits and quality-control checks.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and other data-related documents as requested.
  • Maintain organized electronic records and documentation.
  • Assist with data reconciliation and record matching across multiple systems.
  • Handle confidential patient, employee, financial, and organizational information appropriately.
  • Follow established privacy, security, and data-handling procedures.
  • Assist with data cleanup, system updates, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and operational teams to resolve data-related issues.
  • Support additional administrative and data-management projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Previous experience in data entry, data processing, records management, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn and navigate electronic databases and healthcare information systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in a healthcare or medical office environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or practice-management systems.
  • Experience performing data-quality checks or reconciliations.
  • Understanding of healthcare privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong spreadsheet and data-management skills.
