Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | 3x12-Hour Rotating Days/Nights (07:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30) | Primary shift days with rotating nights based on departmental staffing needs | Every other weekend required | Holidays required as scheduled | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting serving adult, geriatric, and adolescent (ages 15–17, rare) patient populations across MICU and SICU environments
• Manage complex diagnoses including MI, chest pain, pneumonia, sepsis, ARDS, cardiogenic shock, overdose, post-cath, neuro/cervical spine, and surgical abdominal post-op cases
• Administer and monitor all pressors and sedation medications including Epinephrine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Precedex, Cleviprex, Nicardipine, and Propofol
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including mechanical ventilators, CRRT Next Stage, IABP, and support proning/pronation therapy
• Float to IMC, CSU, and lower-acuity areas within scope as needed; travelers are expected to float first
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications and complete onboarding requirements within designated deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact License required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required – AHA only
• CPI certification required – The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address) to be eligible; locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless the posting specifically states otherwise
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated; all scheduling requests (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and may not exceed 7 days, with no more than 4 consecutive days unless an additional week is added to the contract end

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CRRT Next Stage strongly preferred
• Experience with pronation therapy (proning) preferred
• Familiarity with IABP management preferred
• Comfort floating to IMC and CSU environments within scope
