What You Will Do Responsible for commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end‑to‑end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects. Document point‑to‑point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close‑out requirements. Serve as the direct customer contact, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location to ensure satisfaction. Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements for all on‑site installation and repairs, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on‑site work. Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems. Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company‑issued assets by recording use, wear and conditions. Display team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays. What You Will Bring A high school diploma or equivalent, typically at least 3–5 years of HVAC/Controls experience. Technical school or formal training preferred. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (e.g. smartphone, iPad). Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, no major or frequent traffic violations including DUI, hit & run, license suspension, reckless or careless driving, or multiple minor infractions in the past 3 years. Previous experience with DDC control systems preferred. Additional Requirements And Environmental Exposure Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt. Must wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots. Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction. Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands. Must be able to reach your hands over your head. Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours. Position requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently up to 40 lbs. and occasionally more than 40 lbs. Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less. Must maneuver confined access areas as small as 30” vertical × 45” horizontal. Must comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15–20 feet, occasionally up to 50+ feet. May be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location. Compensation Base Pay Range: $30‑40 per hour. This range is based on U.S. national averages; actual pay may depend on seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
