Join Our Team As A CourierPerforms courier/messenger services and delivers supplies and other materials within and between County buildings and facilities. Maintains records and logs. Performs routine clerical work.Essential Job FunctionsPicks up and delivers mail, books, materials, supplies, and equipment.Drives car and/or truck as required.Packs materials and equipment into boxes, bags, or crates.Performs general clerical work which requires no previous experience.Lifts up to 50 pounds and push equipment of 75-100 pounds.Performs data entry and types forms.Performs related work as required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to gain knowledge of locations of County buildings and offices.General knowledge of office practices.Ability to follow written and oral instructions.Ability to make routine decisions.Ability to sort and carefully handle mail and equipment.Ability to maintain records and prepare simple reports.Skill in the operation of an automobile or light truck.Minimum RequirementsPhysical skills/working conditions: Job requires walking, standing, reaching, stooping, and sitting. Requires use of visual display terminal. Requires lifting of up to 50 pounds and pushing of equipment of 75-100 pounds. Requires comprehension of written and oral instructions. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Education, training and experience: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Experience as a courier or delivery person. Licenses, certifications or registrations: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
