Medical Laboratory Technician

As a Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. You will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world, working in a fast‑paced environment that encourages teamwork, quality, and personal growth. Responsibilities Use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases. Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or biopsy samples received in large volumes daily. Set up and run lab tests and read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Specialize in an assigned department and apply departmental procedures and equipment. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent (education and experience). Preferred: 2‑, 3‑, or 4‑year degree in a science‑related field. Preferable experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT). Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting, and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers). Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, detail‑oriented, reliable, and precise work style. Good sense of team spirit and sense of responsibility. Physical Requirements Standing and sitting for extended periods; phone and computer use; extended reach; lifting up to 50lb; specific vision ability (close, color, depth perception, focus adjustment); potential exposure to biohazards and hazardous chemicals.
