Registered Nurse - NICU

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a 13-week contract to provide specialized, compassionate care for critically ill and premature newborns. The RN is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and managing neonatal patients with complex medical conditions while collaborating with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, detail-oriented, and experienced in delivering high-quality neonatal critical care.

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 months of recent NICU experience required
• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the NICU specialty required
• Current Ohio RN license or Compact RN license required at the time of submission
• AHA BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Strong neonatal assessment, critical care, and emergency response skills
• Experience caring for premature and critically ill newborns
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity NICU environment

Unit Details: Procedures Responsibilities include performing comprehensive neonatal assessments, monitoring vital signs and cardiorespiratory status, administering medications and specialized treatments, managing IV therapy and central lines, assisting with ventilator and respiratory support, providing developmental and family-centered care, collaborating with neonatologists and interdisciplinary team members, responding to neonatal emergencies, educating and supporting families, documenting patient care accurately in the electronic medical record, maintaining infection prevention standards, and delivering safe, evidence-based care for critically ill and premature newborns.
