Job Summary

Location: Nebraska Methodist Hospital Address: 8303 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE Work Schedule: This is a casual/prn position. Casual employees work on an 'as needed' basis to meet the needs of the business. Shifts may vary from week to week. Will also be required to be available to work weekends and holidays. Assists the physicians with performing various procedures within Surgery and Fluoro.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of an approved American Medical Association (AMA) School of Radiologic Technology required. Participation in mandatory inservices and continuing education as mandated by policies & procedures, external agencies and as directed by supervisors required.

Experience: 1 year experience in radiology preferred.

License/Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered or board eligible is required. Current license from the Nebraska Department of Health (RAD.NE) or the Iowa Department of Health (RAD.IA) depending on the locations providing radiology services required. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of C-Arm during surgical procedures. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers. Must have analytical skills necessary to computate exposure factors. Ability to supervise, delegate and evaluate. Ability to follow through and to perform numerous tasks at once and work with minimal supervision.

  • Not Related: Explosives (pressurized gas)
  • Occasionally (34%-66%): Chemical agents (Toxic, Corrosive, Flammable, Latex), Electrical Shock/Static
  • Frequent (67%-100%): Biological agents (primary air born and blood born viruses) (Jobs with Patient contact) Blood or Body Fluid (BBF), Physical hazards (noise, temperature, lighting, wet floors, outdoors, sharps) (more than ordinary office environment), Equipment/Machinery/Tools, Radiation Alpha, Beta and Gamma (particles such as X-ray, Cat Scan, Gamma Knife, etc), Radiation Non-Ionizing (Ultraviolet, visible light, infrared and microwaves that causes injuries to tissue or thermal or photochemical means), Mechanical moving parts/vibrations
  • Note: Safety Officer can assist with identification of job hazards
