We are seeking Physical Therapist Assistants to assist in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. May in accordance with state laws, assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist.

Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:

• Apply appropriate treatment for patients.
• Sets up patient treatment area with specific equipment, supplies and manipulative for each patient evaluation or follow up session.
• Treat patients through a variety of therapeutic interventions.
• Safeguards, motivates, and assists patients in practicing exercises and functional activities under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Instructs patients in proper body mechanics and in ways to improve functional mobility.
• Instruct, motivate, safeguard, and assist patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
• Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.
• Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.

Qualifications

What You Bring to Refuah:

• Approved 2-year college program that includes studies that include anatomy and physiology or a PTA education program that is accredited by the APTA
• Passed the NY State boards
• Knowledge of equipment and how to use it when assisting a patient in therapy
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques when assisting patient or carrying heavy objects
• Ability to maintain a good interpersonal relationship with others and works effectively to solve problems and issues
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform a variety of clinical procedures relevant to practice area
• Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards
• Ability to communicate with patients and staff effectively
• Eligible to Work in the US
