Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient/family goals
• Plan, implement, and document occupational therapy treatments in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences and collaborative care planning
• Coordinate discharge planning for each patient, including placement recommendations, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment needs
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT/COTA students in the application of occupational therapy theory and techniques
• Promote patient and employee safety through safe patient handling, infection control practices, and adherence to all facility safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in the state of Indiana or eligibility to obtain
• Ability to assess patients, develop treatment plans, and complete all required clinical documentation within defined timeframes
• Demonstrated ability to supervise COTAs and students competently
• Strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality improvement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation or acute care setting
• Familiarity with discharge planning processes, including adaptive equipment recommendations and caregiver training
• Experience mentoring or orienting new staff or students
