About The Role The ECDP Engineer I, Process / Mechanical is a two-year program in which participants will gain valuable design and field engineering experience. As part of the Program, you will be required to review our plant sites as needed. Expected travel is about 25%. Candidates for the ECDP Engineer I are required to have a Bachelor’s degree. Ideal candidates will be new or recent grads, with up to 2 years of relevant experience. For a list of additional qualifications, please refer to the Position Requirements section below. The ECDP Engineer I will participate in one or more of the following areas: Plant upgrade projects, capital projects Support operations and field assignments The ECDP Engineer I Assignments are Based On a Structured Career Development Program, to Develop Today’s New Hires Into Tomorrow’s Subject Matter Experts and Leaders. Assignments will be structured to fill the following needs: The developmental needs of the ECDP Engineer The needs of the business and stakeholders The resource needs of the Engineering and Projects Departments The needs of the Facilities/Operations Expectations From ECDP Engineer I Assignments will typically vary in length to gain exposure to the main functions and systems making up the Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities, as well as the engineering fundamentals and processes supporting it. In unusual cases, assignment durations may be changed for business or personnel reasons. Based on business needs and standard rotations, ECDP assignments will be planned collaboratively with Engineering, Projects, and Operations leadership and the ECDP, coordinated by respective hiring managers during the two years of the ECDP Program. Reworld's Environment Reworld’s Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities (TTFs) include boilers, steam turbine generators, steam condensers, metals recovery equipment, air pollution control equipment, conveying systems, waste and ash handling/distribution systems, plant utilities and cranes. What You\'ll Do Reporting directly to the Director, Technical Standards, the ECDP Process/Mechanical Engineer will provide support for mechanical aspects of capital projects, operations support and infrastructure assessment projects at various Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities. The ECDP Process/Mechanical Engineer will develop hands-on experience with plant systems and engineering activities by performing tasks at increasing levels of responsibility and independence, aligned with technical development outcomes and supported by experienced subject matter experts and engineering professionals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Plant Support Engineering: Support engineering activities at facilities including field services work, shutdown/maintenance outage inspections on various plant systems, equipment condition assessments, plant performance testing, incident investigations and technical troubleshooting, using RCA/Problem Solving Methodologies. Design Engineering: Support design engineering activities for upgrade and new projects. This includes the collection and review of plant technical information, review and development of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), technical drawings, development of work scopes, plant modification option evaluation, concept development including mechanical design calculations, concept layout sketch and/or drawing development, request for vendor proposal, specification development, bid evaluation support, design review, construction inspections, and commissioning support. Position Requirements Location: This role will be based out of our SEMASSS location in Rochester, MA, or our Haverhill location in Haverhill, MA. Education Bachelor’s degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering. Experience/Background 0-2 years of relevant experience Internship, Co-Op or prior work experience in Mechanical or Process engineering Basic knowledge of how AI tools work in industrial environments Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Proficient with MS Office suite Strong educational and technical background Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to gather input and lead a task to completion Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks Attention to detail Strong organizational skills Exemplary initiative Ability to be flexible and adaptable Quick learner Ability to extract and analyze data Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Team player with a can-do attitude Motivated and committed In addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future. The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $57,400.00 - $76,400.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
