Physician Associate Supervisor - Urology - MSH - Full Time

Overview Supervises and directs a team of PAs and/or Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to optimize patient care and oversee professional accountability and management of the designated team. The PA Supervisor serves as a liaison between the PA practice and leadership, administration, nursing, and medical teams. Maintains clinical responsibility for patient care with a supervising physician, and collaborates with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care in inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient settings, including critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering medications and diagnostics, and performing corrective, preventive and therapeutic measures. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System and the department of hire. Responsibilities Accountable for administrative clinical needs and human resource related activities for the PA team. Completes OPPE/FPPE and performance appraisal evaluations in a timely manner for PA teams. Optimizes the PA role in the designated clinical area for efficiency, effectiveness, and billing/revenue potential. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, standards, and processes for patient safety, quality, throughput, and overall patient care. Participates and leads in interdisciplinary meetings to improve patient care, quality, safety, and throughput. Oversees and manages PA staffing, attendance, recruitment, and retention. Facilitates onboarding and orientation of new PA staff hires. Participates and/or leads in committees across hospital site and clinical area of hire. Contributes to the knowledge of the clinical area of expertise through writing, teaching, research, and informal presentations. Engages in the PA community in a leadership role and is active in PA activities for education, engagement, recognition, and professional development across hospital sites and the health system. Promotes self‑development and growth in a managerial and leadership role and maintains clinical expertise of the designated clinical area. Maintains required certifications and licensure per Medical Staff policy and maintains active Mount Sinai Health System privileges as delegated by Medical Staff Services and the department chair. Promotes self‑learning and maintenance of continued medical education (CME) requirements for board certification and evidence‑based medicine practice. Promotes a positive work environment. Demonstrates knowledge of Mount Sinai Health System’s mission, vision, and values and incorporates them into the delivery of care for patients and teamwork. Maintains a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines. Has the physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, and demonstrate dexterity for short or extended periods of time. Qualifications Greater than 5 years of experience as a clinical PA, with additional leadership/management skills preferred. Compensation The salary range for this role is $115,494 – $173,241 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
