Senior Software Engineer, Test Modeling

Salary: $114,200 - 183,400 per year Requirements:

• We want someone who approaches quality as an engineering discipline, designing dependable, maintainable, layered systems rather than isolated test scripts.
• We value broad testing knowledge across unit, integration, contract, performance/load, chaos, and security testing, with the ability to help shape the strategy across all of them.
• We need strong coding ability and the flexibility to work across different languages and frameworks; experience with object-oriented languages such as C#, Java, or Python is a plus.
• We look for hands-on experience with performance and load testing, including test design, result instrumentation, dashboard creation, and trend monitoring.
• We expect comfort using AI tools to improve personal productivity and support team automation.
• We value troubleshooting skills, including digging into logs, observability tools, and unfamiliar systems to identify complex root causes.
• We look for CI/CD and DevOps experience integrating automated tests into pipelines such as GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or Jenkins.
• We need solid SQL skills, ideally with PostgreSQL and/or MS-SQL, for validating backend state and debugging data issues.
• We value experience with API and contract testing across service boundaries, including third-party integrations.
• We expect strong Git habits, clean and reusable test code, and a production-grade mindset toward test quality.
• We want someone who is self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity.

• We design and deliver end-to-end quality systems, including the framework, tooling, and processes that help us ship with confidence.
• We define and drive our layered quality strategy across unit, integration, E2E, performance, security, and chaos testing.
• We act as the quality partner within our squad, participating in squad channels, cross-team communication, standups, planning, and code reviews.
• We collaborate with engineers on load and performance testing, including test design, execution, dashboards, and ongoing monitoring.
• We apply AI tooling in our daily work and help our partners use it to improve cross-functional impact.
• We integrate automated tests into CI/CD to support continuous testing and rapid feedback from commit to production.
• We monitor test outcomes and failures, investigate root causes, track defects, and work with engineering teams and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• We advocate for contract testing and chaos/resilience testing to surface systemic weaknesses before they reach production.
• We continuously improve our testing tools, methods, and reporting so our quality system stays effective as the product evolves.
• We partner with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to plan tests and strengthen coverage around real user scenarios.
