Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Lead Cook to join our team at the Cheboygan County Jail in Cheboygan, Michigan.What We OfferStarting pay of $20.00 per hour401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off (PTO)Comprehensive benefits packageStable, long-term employmentOn-the-job training and supportPosition ResponsibilitiesAs a Lead Cook, you will:Prepare and serve meals according to company recipes and standardsAssist with food preparation, baking, cooking, and kitchen sanitationLead and support kitchen operations during assigned shiftsTrain, instruct, and assist team members as neededMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentFollow all facility and food safety regulationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to work effectively in a structured correctional settingAbility to read and follow recipes and production guidelinesAbility to lift up to 50 poundsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsSchedule RequirementsAvailability to work rotating weekends and holidaysFlexibility to work varying shifts between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PMAbility to obtain facility clearance and approvalExperienceCooking in an institutional kitchen, or cooking experience is preferred but not required.
