Operations Manager

SubsidiaryOmniSourceOverviewOversee and manage the assets (equipment, people, supplies, etc.) and operations of the division. Seek to meet or exceed overall division goals and objectives.ResponsibilitiesManage to achieve World Class safety, environmental, and sustainability results.Oversee and manage divisional operational assets (equipment, operational headcount, supplies, etc.). Oversee scrap processing facilities in; Memphis, TN; Sherman, Elliott, Greenville, MS; Bessemer,AL. All yards process scrap. Shredders, balers, torching, and retail yards.Estimated time allocation:Operations and maintenance – 70%Administrative and financial activities – 15%Participate in the development and implementation of long- and short-term business goals and annual plan, other activities – 15%Must be a visible leader who can clearly communicate with all levels of employees.Continually develop and grow personnel within the division to assist in succession planning.All other tasks and assignments as assigned.QualificationsRequired:Proactive commitment to safety leadershipBroad experience in scrap business (7+ years), working financial understanding, proven leadership qualities and experience, commercial knowledge, and strong operational and maintenance backgroundStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven track record of management and leadership successSelf-directed, goal orientated, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team atmosphereStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThe ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environmentThe ability to retain and motivate all management personnel in the divisionMust be willing to relocate within the divisional footprintPreferred:College degree preferredPrior Omni knowledge and experience will be preferredKnowledge and experience of Omni products and processSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
