System Administrator I The System Administrator I is responsible for a balanced combination of Help Desk support and system administration. System Administrator I time will be spent split between user-facing technical support and system, endpoint, and cloud administration responsibilities which will adjust as team and priorities arise. This role serves as a key operational member of the IT team, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 Help Desk coverage while also performing hands‑on systems administration tasks including endpoint management, end user training, network infrastructure support, Microsoft 365 administration, identity support, documentation, and security operations. The System Administrator I works closely with the System Administrator II and Director of IT Services to support daily operations, maintain system reliability, and strengthen security posture. May require after‑hours on‑call support and is supervised by the Director of IT Services. Responsibilities Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 Help Desk coverage while performing hands‑on systems administration tasks including endpoint management, end user training, network infrastructure support, Microsoft 365 administration, identity support, documentation, and security operations. Maintains system reliability and improves security posture. Qualifications Post high school degree or certificate in computer science, information management systems, or business with an information system curriculum is preferred or extended years of service in related areas. At least one (1) year experience in all areas of local area and wide area network management and administration, including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support. Working knowledge of: Windows PC and Server operating systems Microsoft 365 applications and services Familiarity with: Active Directory and/or Entra ID Endpoint Management tools such, but not limited to Intune Basic networking concepts (LAN/WAN) Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent customer service, written communication, and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an IT team. Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate issues appropriately. Must possess a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to and from meetings and activities at varying work locations including all agency locations in Lake, Mason, and Oceana Counties. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to assist internal and external customers, conduct training, and explain technologies. Ability to successfully prioritize and manage assigned tasks and projects. Must be able to work independently as well as being able to work from instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The ability to logically analyze problems, to interpret and integrate information, and to arrive at a resolution. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders are valued.
