Laboratory Supervisor

Description

Laboratory Supervisor at WMA Laboratory, performs patient registration and phlebotomy; performs and oversees quality control of waived testing within the lab and throughout the clinic; training and competency of lab assistants and nursing staff within the clinic for waived testing and quality control, specimen collection, and specimen labeling; prepares schedule for two lab assistants; directly oversees two (2) lab assistants. Proficiency testing three (3) times per year. Daily, weekly, and monthly record review. Maintains detailed records. Works closely with providers, nursing staff, and clinic staff to ensure optimal patient care. There is a strong focus on patient satisfaction at this clinic, and this role is key in ensuring patient satisfaction in the Outpatient setting.

Requirements

Must have experience in phlebotomy, waived testing, training staff, and performing competency assessment. Must have current MLT certification with clinic lab experience at minimum; hospital lab experience with blood bank experience is a plus. Must maintain MLT/MLS certification.
