Individuals with high emotional intelligence, humility and openness to discovery will thrive in the teams we are building. **IDES** currently has an opening for a **Power Electronics EOL Sr. Test Project Engineer**. This position is located in Mossville, Illinois with responsibility for the production manufacturing EOL (End of Line) test of Power Electronics product lines. The incumbent will report to the IDES Power Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will partner with and provide technical EOL testing guidance to global engineering and supplier partner teams. You will lead the planning and delivery of complex projects, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, and drive collaboration in a cross functional environment.**Additional Information:*** This position is located in **Mossville, IL.*** Domestic travel up to 25% with potential for international travel is required.* Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.* Visa sponsorship is NOT offered for this position.* We’re back! All roles at Caterpillar Inc. report on-site 5 days per week.**What You Will Do:**• Implements and improves testing, development and validation techniques, processes, tooling and machinery to maximize product quality.• Resolving issues regarding the design or manufacturing. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness. • Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. • Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient and cost-effective. • Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum or equivalent experience working in an Engineering function.**What You Will Have:**Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. • Evaluates and makes contributions to best practices. • Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy. • Productively balances speed and accuracy. • Implements a variety of cross-checking approaches and mechanisms. • Demonstrates expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards. • Employs techniques for motivating employees to meet or exceed accuracy goals. Product Testing: Extensive knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing. • Coordinates execution of test plans, including resources, strategy, schedules, processes and tools. • Collaborates with design team to ensure testing considerations are incorporated into system design. • Recommends tools and techniques for automating, simplifying and enhancing product testing. • Compares and contrasts alternative testing methodologies and tools. • Matches testing methodology and tools to product being tested; develops test scenarios and scripts. • Estimates time, effort and resources required for thorough testing. Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment. • Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution. • Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems. • Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs. • Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment. • Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach. • Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.**Top Candidates Will Have:** * Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in an Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering/Technology curriculum OR extensive related experience in lieu of a degree.* Will have 5 years minimum relevant experience ### ### **Summary Pay Range:**$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
