Construction Project Manager

Job Description

Summit Design + Build is actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL . This role is ideal for someone with strong multi-family construction experience who can lead projects from start to finish and work closely with owners, consultants, and trade partners.

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Manage all phases of the construction process from preconstruction through closeout
\n
• Lead internal teams, including Project Engineers and Project Coordinators
\n
• Maintain constant communication with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
\n
• Ensure projects stay on track with budgets, schedules, and quality standards
\n
• Support bid/estimating efforts, manage buyout, and oversee subcontractor selection
\n
• Lead weekly construction meetings and maintain safety and quality expectations
\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
\n
• 8–10 years of project management experience in multi-family/commercial construction
\n
• Strong multi-family project experience is required
\n
• Experience on large-scale projects (ex: $10M+ / $50M+) is a plus
\n
• Familiarity with the Chicago construction market is a plus
\n
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Sage CRE 300, and On-Screen Takeoff is preferred

Salary Range:

\n

$110k – $145k per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

\n

\n
