Commercial Pest Control Technician

Position Commercial Pest Control Technician (Route Manager) – Sprague Pest Solutions, Grand Junction, Colorado, United States Overview Join our team as a Route Manager to provide pest control and inspection services for commercial client locations. Build professional relationships, understand client challenges, and offer knowledgeable guidance to solve a wide range of pest management problems. This role reports to the Branch Manager and collaborates with Operations Managers, Sales Reps, and a team of Route Managers to enhance client satisfaction and business operations. Responsibilities Scheduling Ownership: Manage a dedicated route of commercial clients and maintain service quality according to established standards. Flexible scheduling: Work to meet client expectations, handling urgent and unscheduled services in a timely manner. Client Satisfaction: Provide proactive, knowledgeable guidance, communicate options and recommendations, and respond quickly to complaints and service requests. Account growth: Seek opportunities to grow accounts and branch sales by asking for referrals, discussing add-on services, and logging leads for the sales team. Safety and operations: Drive a clean, safe, and well‑organized service vehicle; set up, monitor, and tear down equipment for installations and treatments. Continuous learning: Engage in regular training to earn and maintain certifications and stay updated on pest control methods and technologies. Collaboration: Partner with clients and technical specialists to create action plans for solving and preventing pest management problems. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 2+ years’ experience in route sales, facilities management, janitorial services, landscaping, or environmental services; OR 2+ years’ experience in customer service, sales, retail, or hospitality Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and manage time effectively Ability to pass background screening and meet DOT physical standards, including a 5‑panel drug screen Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant technology Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record Preferred Qualifications 2+ years’ experience in pest control, landscaping, agriculture, or food production Pest control, industrial, or safety certifications Physical Requirements Ability to handle pest control equipment and work in various conditions; may lift up to 50 pounds Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and driving Ability to wear personal protective equipment and work outdoors in all weather Benefits & Compensation Salary: $23-26/hr (depends on experience) plus performance bonuses and sales commissions Take-home service vehicle with gas card Company-provided phone, uniforms, and safety equipment On-the-job training and licensing Growth opportunities and leadership training Health, Vision, Dental Insurance within 30 days of hire; 401K with company match; paid time off; childcare assistance and college savings plan Compliance & Equal Opportunity All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
