Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech

OR Technologist

Assists in the transportation and positioning of patients. Assists in assembling and dismantling tables and instruments before and after procedures. Prepares the patient and room for planned surgical procedures. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures. Completes skin preparation and draping. Assists the surgeon with gowning and gloving. Passes instruments and sutures to the surgeon. Helps maintain correct counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges. Applies dressings and bandages as needed. Assists in identifying, collecting, and caring for specimens. Decontaminates instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established policies and procedures. Handles and stores instruments, equipment, and supplies appropriately. Aids in the efficient turnover of the operating room for subsequent cases. Monitors and restocks supplies as needed.

Experience: Minimum 2 years License: High School diploma or equivalent Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate Must-Have: - Graduate of OR technician program accredited through ARC/STSA or on-the-job training. - Military experience as a technician or LPN, or prior experience as a dental assistant, ophthalmologist technician, or medical assistant. - If certified, must have successfully passed the Certified Surgical Technologist exam through NBSTSA or NCCT.
