The position of a Dozer Operator in the Grading Department is not an entry level job and requires previous experience in the highway grading industry. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs pre and post daily inspection of dozer to ensure that the machine is in proper working order. Includes fluid checks and proper lubrication. Performs some maintenance and reports to supervisor when repair or other maintenance is needed Maintains clean housekeeping on machine and jobsite Cut ditches, slopes, grades, clears brush, shapes and dresses slopes and other earth moving activities Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade. Other duties as requested Education and/or Experience: 3-5 years' experience with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges, preferred Knowledge and use of GPS systems preferredHigh school diploma/GED, preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Must have strong knowledge of finish gradingGPS knowledge, preferredMust be able to operate a dozer at expert levelValid driver's license Must be safety orientedAbility to understand and follow oral instructions, communicate tactfully and effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the publicAble to learn and comply with all safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulationsAble to learn and comply with all company policies and proceduresAbility to travel and to work overtime when requiredMust be able to pass a drug screenMust have a strong work ethicMust be 18 years of age Physical Demands: The physical demands below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
