Telemetry NurseLocation: North Tower, SMMC, City, StateNumber of Beds: 18Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5Responsibilities:Monitoring and interpreting telemetry data.Administering medications and titrating drips per protocols, including comfort care medications and limited drips such as Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10 mg/hr).Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.Supporting patients with diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), non-critical sepsis, Hypertension (HTN), and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience is required.Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Bio/Chemotherapy certification is preferred but not required.Work Environment:Shift: 12-hour shifts are the standard for this unit.Weekend Requirements: Staffing will be based on unit needs and demands.Holiday Requirements: To be discussed during the interview process.Floating Requirements: Nurses may be required to float to like departments based on staffing needs.Orientation and Training:New hires can expect 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the department.Additional Notes:This is a newly established department, opening on December 10th.
