We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our family medicine and internal medicine clinic. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered primary care to a diverse patient population in a collaborative outpatient setting and will work closely with the supervising physician.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety, clinical quality, continuity of care, and positive patient outcomes. We are looking for someone who genuinely values compassionate, thorough care and takes pride in delivering an excellent patient experience.

Candidates must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English to ensure clear and effective communication with our patients and healthcare team. Fluency in Cantonese is highly preferred, and trilingual candidates who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English are strongly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must also have at least one year of professional experience working as a Physician Assistant, preferably in family medicine, internal medicine, or primary care. The candidate must be able to independently document and self-scribe patient encounters accurately and efficiently using the clinic’s electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, vital signs, and symptom assessments.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions commonly treated in a primary care setting.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician and other healthcare professionals.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe medications and provide medication education in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and the Physician Assistant’s scope of practice.
• Provide preventive care services, health screenings, immunizations, and patient education.
• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, asthma, and other common primary care concerns.
• Perform appropriate in-office procedures within the Physician Assistant’s scope of practice and clinic protocols.
• Independently self-scribe and document all patient encounters accurately, thoroughly, and promptly using the clinic’s electronic medical record system.
• Maintain complete and organized medical records that support continuity of care, clinical quality, and appropriate billing and coding.
• Communicate medical information, treatment recommendations, and follow-up instructions clearly in Mandarin and English.
• Communicate with Cantonese-speaking patients when language skills permit.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare providers.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection control, and clinical safety requirements.
• Monitor patient progress and follow up appropriately to support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented clinic environment.
• Demonstrate a consistent commitment to compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the State of California.
• Current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• Current and valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Ability to independently self-scribe and complete accurate, timely, and thorough electronic medical record documentation without dedicated scribe support.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, quality of care, continuity of care, and positive patient outcomes.
• Ability to communicate medical information clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation, infection control standards, and HIPAA requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinic staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese.
• Trilingual proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or primary care.
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients.
• Experience working with Chinese-speaking patient populations.
• Familiarity with preventive medicine and chronic disease management.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
