Staff Nurse - Nursing Float Pool - Adult Intermediate Care Tier 1, Day Shifts
University of Iowa Health Care is seeking skilled staff nurses for their Nursing Float Pool (Tier 1) also known as the Enterprise Staffing Pool for Adult Intermediate Care Services. These staff nurses will circulate between many units within adult intermediate care Services at University of Iowa Health Care University Campus. Key areas of responsibility include applying nursing theory to patient care, assessing patient preferences, coordinating care across settings, implementing patient care plans, documenting interventions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and following universal precautions. Anticipated shifts include 4-12 hours in an area, with holiday and weekend requirements. The position utilizes a self-scheduling model and requires floating between many units within the MCU campus. Percent of time is 90% - 36 hours per week. Schedule: Day shifts with holiday and weekend requirements. Location: Iowa City, IA. Tier 1 Staff Nurses will receive an additional $5/hr. on all hours worked.

Education requirement: An Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required. Required qualifications include 1 or more years of current experience with Adult Intermediate Care, excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members, general computer skills, and current license to practice nursing in Iowa. Desired qualifications include a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, 2 or more years of current experience with Adult Intermediate Care, and active enrollment in a BSN program if the Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained.
