Registered Nurse - Observation Unit

Location: Toledo, OH

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15)

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will be part of a mixed unit handling patients in the Observation Unit. The role involves monitoring patients with varying medical conditions requiring intermediate care, including both telemetry and medical-surgical cases. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment, managing patient care with the assistance of interdisciplinary teams, including therapy and response teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care and provide assessments, medications, and interventions.
• Monitor vital signs and manage cardiac telemetry.
• Administer intermediate medication gtts such as heparin, nitro, cardizem, and insulin.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to adhere to patient length of stay goals.
• Observe and document patient status and progress accurately in the EPIC system.
• Float within the service line and between facilities as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, particularly in telemetry and observation settings.
• Active RN license in Ohio or Michigan.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
