Branch Manager

The primary purpose of the Branch Manager is to develop a highly effective team that consistently meets or exceeds sales and service goals as defined by the strategic plan and core values for Credit Union of Texas. The Branch Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing of all credit union services and activities of the Branch. Additional duties include responsibility for the daily maintenance, well-being and security of the physical facility.

Major Duties and Essential Functions:

  1. Develop each team member through coaching and training to meet or exceed sales and service standards.
  2. Review and evaluate reports of store activities, including staffing, loans, deposits, overdrafts, charge-offs, and audits to meet credit union performance objectives. Leverage management tools to reports to analyze, identify and strategically address trends.
  3. Meet with each team member regularly to review performance and hold team member accountable to the sales and service goals established by leadership.
  4. Lead sales training meetings for store employees.
  5. Responsible for meeting or exceeding store sales and service goals.
  6. Conduct annual performance evaluations.
  7. Administer corrective action when necessary, including termination, to hold team members accountable for their performance and behavior.
  8. Identify exceptional talent through the credit union's hiring process and makes recommendations for advancement, promotion or other internal opportunities.
  9. Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long term objectives. Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures. This includes compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Assets Control and USA Patriot Act as they apply to the duties of the position.
  10. Assign and/or delegate daily work assignments to all store team members.
  11. Accept responsibility for the overall security of the store, including keys, combinations, documents, records and negotiable items.
  12. Manage expenses within an approved budget and authorize the payment of branch bills.
  13. Serve as Notary Public and perform Signature Guarantee.
  14. Receive and respond to member feedback.
  15. Work closely with Business Development to ensure growth opportunities within the community.
  16. Promote strategic initiatives and objectives throughout the Credit Union to help meet set goals
  17. Enhance organization wide communication.
  18. Motivate fellow staff to meet or exceed set goals.
  19. Seek to understand and appreciate different perspectives and employee feedback from other departments.
  20. May perform other duties as required to maintain credit union services and operations.

Positions directly supervised: Assistant Branch Manager, Member Relationship Specialist, Teller and Member Engagement Specialist.

Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

Education: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience and certifications.

Experience: Minimum 4-6 years related experience in financial institution environment or equivalent preferred.

Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position:

Sedentary Work While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently talk or hear, sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms. The employee will occasionally, stand and walk, climb or balance, and stoup, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

Mental Activities and Requirements of this Position:

Reasoning Ability: The ability to use common sense or logic. Detailed Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Mathematical Ability: The level of ability required to perform math skills and operations. Basic Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Language Ability: The level of ability required to communicate and understand written and oral language. Typical Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, members, vendors and other employees in the organization.
