Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse in Dubuque, Iowathis hospital-based role involves caring for patients with conditions such as Stroke (Neuro), Congestive Heart Failure, COVID-19, and Cardiovascular issues. The position requires providing high-quality patient care on a 23-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5. Candidates must bring their active Iowa or multistate license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

• Location: Dubuque, Iowa
• Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Iowa or multistate license, 36 months of recent nursing experience in Medical Surgical, Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Stepdown, with experience in EPIC electronic medical record system, BLS (American Heart Association), and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications, comfort caring for Stroke (Neuro), Congestive Heart Failure, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), COVID, and Cardiovascular patients, and proficiency with clinical skills specific to Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification, recent performance references within 24 months, and active driver's license.
• Additional Information: Orientation available on 6/29 and 7/6 (priority on 6/29). Holiday work is required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day unless the unit is closed.
• Experience: 36 months in relevant nursing fields including experience with EPIC EMR system.
