Diesel Mechanic - Midland

Overview 

• $25-28/hour + overtime + sign-on bonus + per diem + paid travel time to and from hitch (5-7 hours).
• Benefits : Paid training, PTO in first year, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401k with company match.
• Schedule : 15 days on/6 days off, 85-90 hours/week.
• Work : Maintain service operations by inspecting, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and heavy diesel trucks.

Responsibilities  

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, AC, air brakes, lights, horn, lift and install heavy components and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies, etc.
• Keep a clean and safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards.
• Maintain communication with drivers and management regarding maintenance and service of vehicles and equipment.
• Accurately record all maintenance activity on company documentation.
• Monitor Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) for commercial vehicles (Tractor Trailer, Bobtail, Fuel Trailer and Pick-up Trucks)
• Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (PO’s), etc.

Required Qualifications 

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Satisfactorily pass a drug, alcohol, and background check.
• Pass a DOT physical or "Fit for Duty" physical exam.
• Must be insurable to drive company vehicles.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Experienced with fuel pump equipment and hoses.
• Be familiar with DOT and other rules and regulations pertaining to commercial vehicle maintenance and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
• Ability to handle the daily physical requirements of the work.

Compensation and Benefits

• $25-$28/hour
• Time and a half pay for hours over 40 in a work week.
• $300 sign-on bonus.
• Paid travel time to and from hitch (5-7 hours).
• Per diem.

Schedule and Location

• 15 days on/6 days off, 85-90 hours/week, day or night shifts.
• Midland, Odessa, Pecos, Orla
