Job Description & Requirements Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Charleston, West Virginia. Specialty: Interventional Radiology Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Summary The Interventional Radiology Nurse provides specialized care to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management. Essential Work Functions Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results. Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care. Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures. Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling. Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary. Provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details. Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification. Preferred Qualifications PALS or ENPC certifications. ACLS certification. RCIS/RCES certification. Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push/pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/motor skills: perform fine manipulation, push/pull, move about during procedures or equipment use. Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, maintain continuous concentration to detail.
