About the Position

RN – Med-Surg Adult & Pediatric – Day Shift – Relocation Candidates Welcome

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care on a combined adult and pediatric Medical-Surgical unit in Sweetwater, Texas. The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients, including those requiring medical-surgical and orthopedic care.

The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe, effective, patient-centered care while maintaining appropriate patient monitoring and documentation.

Patient-to-nurse ratio: Approximately 1:4–6.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and pediatric patients on a combined Med-Surg unit.
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in clinical status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Support patients recovering from medical, surgical, and orthopedic conditions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the CPSI/Evident EMR system.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
• Follow established nursing standards, safety protocols, and infection-control procedures.
• Provide holiday coverage as required.

Requirements

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license valid for practice in Texas.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Experience providing care to both adult and pediatric patients preferred.
• Ability to work in a combined medical-surgical setting.
• Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.
• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Positions Available: 1.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4–6.
• Patient Population: Adults and pediatric patients.
• Specialties: Med-Surg Adult, Med-Surg Pediatrics, and Med-Surg Orthopedics.
• EMR: CPSI/Evident.
• Holiday Coverage: Required.
• Call: No call required.
• Overtime: After 40 hours per week
