Commercial Flooring Estimator / Project Manager in Madison Heights

Highly respected interior contractor with 85 years of knowledge working in flooring, drywall, and acoustical in Metro‑Detroit is looking to add an experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator/Project Manager to the team. Job overview Point of contact with customers, superintendents and sub‑contractors Create new and build stronger existing customer relationships Managing & estimating a project from beginning to end, ensuring that construction activities stay on schedule and within budget Interface with owner and others to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking the team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project Estimate with detail, both quantitative material/equipment take‑off & labor production Attend pre‑bid meetings to ensure determine accurate scope of work and require contents of estimate Expert blueprint reading ability to accurately complete quantity material take‑offs Transfer all costs/data to an estimating spreadsheet and maintain files of working documents as back‑up for estimate figures Estimate extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials etc. Periodic inspection of construction sites and progress meetings when necessary Requirements Minimum of 5 years commercial flooring estimating experience Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and strong management focus Results‑oriented, well organized and self‑directed Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Estimating Software (FloorRight experience) Detail driven and expert plan reading skills with ability to conceptualize drawings Understand soft flooring materials and installation methods Attention to detail and accuracy in a MUST Must be able to read and interpret all project specification manuals Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures Compensation/Benefits Bonus incentive packaged based on profitability of project Health Insurance 401K Paid vacation and Personal days Company Description Turner Brooks is a commercial interior contractor founded in 1933 with a long‑standing reputation for its dependability, integrity, and craftsmanship within the ceiling, drywall, flooring, carpentry, and cold form metal framing divisions.
