Responsibilities Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of various tax returns (federal, state, local, and international) in accordance with applicable tax laws. Ensure accurate and timely payment of all tax obligations. Coordinate and manage tax audits by governmental authorities (IRS, state, local). Respond to tax correspondence and address inquiries from tax authorities. Develop and implement tax strategies to help the organization maintain compliance and optimize tax efficiency. Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities and strategies to maximize deductions and avoid penalties. Analyze tax law and policy to identify solutions for the organization's specific needs. Stay updated on evolving tax laws, regulations, and industry trends. Analyze and interpret complex tax regulations and communicate their impact to management and the tax team. Conduct tax research to address specific tax issues and provide advice to clients or colleagues. Oversee areas of supervision for staff which include hiring, coaching, training, counseling, and oversight of the department or area of supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required. Minimum of five years of experience in tax compliance and consulting, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws; proficiency in tax software and reporting tools; strong knowledge of accounting standards and practices; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, effective communication (written and verbal), strong leadership and management abilities, strong ethical conduct and integrity.
