U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 950 employees in twenty states.JOB SUMMARY: This position supervises, coordinates, and participates in the repair and maintenance of sewer lift stations.MAJOR DUTIES:Manages, oversees, directs, and participates in the maintenance and repair of wastewater lift stations to prevent. sanitary sewer overflow and to maintain proper efficiencies.Supervises the location and acquisition of parts and equipment.Manages on-call overtime for the division.Manages and produces the division work order process.Maintains up-to-date lift station files and records.Performs efficiency draw-down tests on lift stations.Oversees the division's odor and corrosion prevention program.Performs related duties.KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:Knowledge of wastewater collection system operation and maintenance principles.Knowledge of lift station inspection, repair, and maintenance principles.Knowledge of the hazards inherent to sewer maintenance work and the safety measures used to mitigate those. hazards.Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the maintenance of lift station equipment.Knowledge of wastewater system testing principles and practices.Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.Skill in directing the work of personnel.Skill in managing files and records.Skill in the use of lift station maintenance tools and equipment.Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.Skill in oral and written communication.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position is a working management style with occasional office/ desk type work.he employee lifts heavy objects, climbs ladders and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three years of experience in collections.Possession of or ability to obtain within one year a Wastewater Collection System Certificate. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
