This extensive transportation project entails a 32-mile alignment with varied civil scopes including bridges, viaducts, tunnel work, utility relocations, trench sections, railroad coordination, roadway improvements, and significant river crossings.Role SummaryWe are in search of a seasoned Field Engineer to provide support for field operations, planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and technical implementation on a large heavy civil project. The position involves working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and field teams to guarantee successful project completion.Primary Responsibilities Analyze plans, specifications, and establish construction schedules in alignment with project milestones Manage subcontractors for procurement, preconstruction deliverables, and readiness activities Aid in bid packages, quote collection, and contract preparation Develop work plans, construction packages, and lead preconstruction coordination meetings Update and circulate work schedules while coordinating notifications with internal teams and agencies Supervise daily field activities and ensure work adheres to plans and specifications Collaborate with design teams to address technical issues and field changes Assist in subcontract administration including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and performance tracking Support monthly progress billing, reporting, forecasting, and issue resolution Participate in change orders and claims documentation Foster strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants, and field personnel Enforce jobsite safety standards, cleanliness, and productivity expectations Recognize evolving site conditions and assist in proactive solution development Aid in permits, crossing applications, inspections, quality checks, and closeout documentationQualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience Thorough knowledge of construction safety and OSHA regulations Experience in cost tracking, estimating, forecasting, and contracts Familiarity with CPM scheduling and resource planning preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Preference for Primavera P6 experience Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities Detail-oriented with a knack for early discrepancy detection Self-driven with a strong work ethic and capability to work independently or within a teamDesirable Background Involvement in transportation infrastructure projects Experience with bridges, structures, utility relocations, rail, tunnels, or roadway construction Exposure to public works or design-build projectsCompensation Package Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package Chance to contribute to a significant infrastructure project in CaliforniaSubmit Your ApplicationIf you possess strong field engineering experience in heavy civil construction and wish to be part of a groundbreaking project, submit your application today.
