Senior Construction Manager | Hyperscale Data Centers

Location: New Albany, OH (Onsite)

Compensation: $80-$100/hr

Employment Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the delivery of large-scale hyperscale data center projects in New Albany, Ohio.

This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience managing the construction of mission-critical facilities and hyperscale data centers from groundbreaking through commissioning and turnover. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MEP systems, strong field leadership skills, and a track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure projects.

• Lead onsite construction activities for hyperscale data center projects.
• Manage safety, quality, schedule, budget, and contractor performance.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and critical infrastructure scopes.
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineering teams, commissioning teams, and key stakeholders.
• Drive project execution from preconstruction through commissioning and final handover.
• Identify risks, resolve field issues, and maintain project milestones.
• Review schedules, sequencing plans, and recovery strategies to ensure successful delivery.
• Ensure compliance with construction standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.

• 8+ years of construction management experience.
• Direct experience delivering hyperscale data center projects.
• Strong MEP and mission-critical construction background.
• Ground-up and greenfield construction experience.
• Experience managing projects through commissioning and turnover.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale construction teams and contractors.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience supporting projects for:

• Meta
• AWS
• Microsoft
• Google
• Oracle

Experience with leading mission-critical contractors such as:

• Holder Construction
• DPR Construction
• Mortenson
• Turner Construction
• JE Dunn
• Whiting-Turner
• Brasfield & Gorrie
• Clayco

The ideal candidate has experience managing hyperscale data center construction projects in active mission-critical environments and has successfully delivered large-scale campus developments involving complex MEP systems. Candidates should be comfortable leading projects from site development through commissioning and final turnover.

Please note: This role requires true hyperscale data center construction experience. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily focused on facilities operations, commercial construction, renovations, tenant improvements, or small colocation facilities may not be a fit.

Experience with hyperscale data center owners or mission-critical general contractors is highly preferred.

This is a Contract position based out of New Albany, OH.

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in New Albany,OH.
