Paraprofessional - Title 1 Elementary

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support the educational needs of students in a Title 1 Elementary setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to enhance student learning, provide individualized support, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. This full-time position requires a commitment to helping students achieve academic success and develop social skills.
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in various subjects, including reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior.
- Help create and maintain a positive, engaging, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Support students in developing social skills and positive behavior through modeling and reinforcement strategies.
- Assist with classroom management, including maintaining order and discipline among students.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive educational community.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field preferred. Candidate must have associate's degree or willing to take the Paraprofessional highly qualified test within 3 months of accepting the position
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education laws, practices, and strategies for supporting students with disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of a classroom environment.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with educational technology and software.
