Counterperson - Local Hardware Store
Location: Yuba Sutter Area
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00/hr (DOE)
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a local hardware store in Yuba City to hire a Counterperson. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a customer-facing environment, and doesn’t mind pitching in with hands-on work around the yard.
Position Overview:You’ll be the first point of contact for customers—assisting with product questions, handling cash and credit transactions, and ensuring every visitor has a positive experience. When not at the counter, you’ll help load and unload orders, maintain the yard, and keep the store organized and stocked.
Responsibilities:Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
Process cash, credit, and check transactions accurately and efficiently.
Assist customers with locating products and loading purchases.
Maintain clean and organized sales and yard areas.
Support inventory control and restocking tasks.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Previous customer service and cash handling experience required.
Positive, helpful attitude and strong communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a busy retail and yard environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and work outdoors as needed.
Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as bending and lifting.
